Friday Oct. 1 & Saturday Oct. 2: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm (lunch provided) Sunday Oct. 3: 7 am – 3 pm (lunch on your own in town)
Get a taste of the authentic West during a three day photo workshop in Fallon, Nevada (a one hour drive from Reno-Tahoe International Airport). You’ll meet and photograph working ranchmen and cowboys with professional commercial photographer, Jeff Ross. In the morning, watch photo demonstrations, learn lighting techniques and participate in group critiques. In the afternoon, go on location to ranches and perfect your portrait and landscape photography. Enjoy a BBQ steak lunch hosted by a rancher. Photograph the annual World Cowboy Fast Draw Championship where Western wear is worn and guns are slung.
Students must have a SLR digital camera and a laptop with Photoshop (CS3 or above). Photo editing homework will be assigned each night. Join the group for a Basque dinner (no host) Friday at 7pm at the historic Overland Hotel. Transportation will be provided to ranch locations and the following will be provided: daily coffee, a BBQ steak lunch and a catered box lunch (Friday & Saturday).
Please call Jennifer Ishimatsu at 775-329-3333 x260 if you have special dietary requirements. Students are responsible for booking their own transportation and accommodations. Please note that the Museum is not responsible for transportation or accommodation charges if the workshop is canceled if minimum enrollment is not met.
Last day to register has been extended to Tuesday, September 21.
