Jeff Ross-Photographer Instructs students on lighting technique.

As the school year starts to wind down, new plans are brewing for the fall…

I have been teaching photography at the Nevada Museum of Art for the last few years, and I have just completed my first year teaching Art 235 at the University of Nevada Reno. Next Fall I will be teaching a more advanced class at UNR, Art 338 Advanced Photography l. The class has been taught in the past, but the Chairman of the Art Department has agreed to let me add an emphasis on lighting. So I will be working on a revised syllabus this summer to be ready for the fall semester.

There will be summer programs available too.  In August I will be co-teaching with M.D. Welch, who also teaches at UNR Extended Studies.  Our class is a new one at the Nevada Museum of Art and will have an emphasis  on Photographic Lighting with Speedlights.  This class will explore using portable lighting indoors and out, we will photograph live models, and help students understand lighting principles.

Please contact me if you have any questions on the upcoming programs.

  1. The class in August sounds like something I’d love to take. I’ll keep my radar on for it.
