Harrah’s Showgirls Dominate the Studio

Art Director Terry Whistler positions the girls for the shot.

Jeff help one of the girls with her pose.

What do you get we you mix 14 lights, 20,000 watts of power, thumping tunes and 8 of the hottest showgirls in Reno? A smoking photo shoot for Harrah’s newest adult cabaret show.

“X Burlesque” is in production for Harrah’s Reno. For 90 minutes, the burlesque beauties bare their assets all while teasing, seducing and playfully interacting with the audience.

Husband and wife team Matt and Angela Stabile are the clever creators of the titillating production. The provocative yet artful show has been infused with even more energy than years before. “We always like to re-invent the show and make it sexier, edgier and better than ever,” said producer, Angela Stabile.  We’ve added two new curtains and brand new, “barely there” costumes. We know the experience will stay in people’s heads long after the show ends.”

X Burlesque combines high-energy performance with the use of outrageous props such as bathtubs, guitars, lollipops and feather boas to fulfill the audience’s every fantasy.

Don’t miss this show when it hits Harrah’s Reno.

Lights, Camera, Smile!

slots_0471Last week we packed up the truck and headed out to Boomtown Hotel and Casino for a two day photo shoot. The Advertising Agency for Boomtown is Touchpoints Marketing, a firm based out of New Orleans, Louisiana which specializes in the Entertainment, Hotel, Restaurant, and Casino industry. This was our second time working with Chris, the Art Director for Touchpoints, who is great to work with. He comes up with very creative concepts which he easily communicates to us and then lets us do our job. It is a constant dialogue between the two of us throughout the entire process, we definitely speak the same language.

There were eight conceptual shots in all: 1 Blackjack, 1 Craps, a Keno, Roulette, 2 Slot Machines, a picture of their Sports Book, and one of their steakhouse, Cassidy’s Steakhouse. We had 6 professional actors from Cast Images in Sacramento in addition to some Boomtown employees in the photographs. All of the actors really hit their mark on creating a realistic atmosphere virtually every time.

Behind the scenes we used Broncolor strobes to light the room and tons of gels to balance out the different color temperatures that were already existing from the slot machines and signs. We brought our favorite camera, the Hasselblad H3D, and used a variety of lenses for each scene. Each shot was tethered to our iMac so the Art Director, Marketing Director, and General Manager could all get a sneak peak of the images.

Other than having to wake up early in the morning and work late the photo shoot was a lot of fun! You can’t complain when your days consist of working with great people, a fun atmosphere, and real poker chips!

If you’re ever in the area make a point to go try Cassidy’s Steakhouse; the food is awesome! They have fresh fish, a great wine selection, and everyone from the waiters to the head chef were fun, friendly, and hospitable.
